A quick status update

I want to apologize to those of you patiently waiting for the next blog entry. I have been buried with other work lately in preparation for a couple trips. Unfortunately I expect it will be another couple weeks before I am able to post anything due to that travel. If I can write something earlier I will, but I don’t anticipate it. Rest assured I do plan to get back to writing here.

If you are going to the SNAG conference then I will see you there!

I’m happy to have a site where I can again allow comments. (I had to shut them off on my main website because the spam was simply uncontrollable!) So please I encourage you to share thoughts of your own. My general rule about comments though is just to play nice. Differing views are fine, but I’m not interested in engaging in or moderating verbal fights. If I feel things get out of hand, by whatever criteria I decide, I’ll just start blocking or deleting things.

  1. Big congratulations for winning the 2019 SAUL Bell Award for Hollow Forms. Your silver vessel was exceptional.

  2. I would love to see the inside of your fabulous studio! Is there a blog about creating it that I missed? Just joined your blog as I saw your wonderful vessel and wanted to know more about you, the artist!

    1. Greetings Joanne. Thanks for joining and welcome.

I really should do a blog post touring the inside of my studio. In fact, a series of posts offering a virtual tour of the homestead would be in order. I’ll pencil that in on my to do list as I build up this site! That said, I do have a couple albums with photos and text about my studio over on my other website, http://www.davidhuang.org. Here are links to those sections:

This one shows you around the studio shortly after I moved into it, while everything is nice neat and clean. Visualize a decade of built up dirt, metal filings, and general stuff accumulation and you’ll have a decent idea of where it’s at now. I really need to give it a good cleaning sometime.

This album is about the making of the studio. Some of the images got lost in a hard drive error many years ago, but you can still get the general idea of things. It’s fun for those who want to see how it was built.

Hopefully I’ll get a new blog entry posted soon, possibly even later tonight. 🙂
